Our first concert in May 2010 will be an all Mozart programme featuring the Requiem. We will be using the New Novello Choral Edition which is available from any music shop including Barbican Chimes, or try www.musicroom.co.uk. If you already own another edition that will be fine.
All the other music for the concert will be provided.
Concert dress will be all black.
Sopranos and Altos - black trousers or skirt and black long sleeved top.
Basses and Tenors - black trousers and black shirt (no jackets)
Please arrive at the church for the pre-concert rehearsal in your concert dress as there are no changing facilities.

Last rehearsal before concert is Monday 10th May
Mozart Concert - Wednesday 12th May 7.30 with a rehearsal at 4.45pm.
Work on pieces for CD - Monday 17th and Monday 24th May
No rehearsal - Monday 31st May Bank Holiday
Work on pieces for CD - Monday 7th, 14th, 21st June
Record CD - Monday 28th June, 5th and 12th July
Break for summer.

This week we learnt the Domine Jesu and the section at the end of the Benedictus. These are some of the hardest parts of the Requiem and you coped with them really well. Next week I would like to run the whole of the Requiem up to the last movement in the first half. If you arrive after we have started just come and join in at the back. In the second half we will learn the Lux Aeterna.
You can find most of the music online if you Google for it, but if you want to buy a CD, I recommend this version.
